MMS downloads for across cellular networks - 24
April 2003, The Star
KUALA LUMPUR: AKN Messaging Technologies Bhd said it launched
a range of MMS (Multimedia Message Service) downloads accessible
by all local mobile operators with WAP-GPRS (Wireless Application
Protocol-General Packet Radio Service) networks.
These MMS services and applications, marketed under AKN MTECH's
"eBuzz Direct 2U" label, can be accessed through its
partners Celcom, Maxis and DiGi, the company said in a statement
last week.
eBuzz MMS can be easily accessed via compatible mobile devices
such as Nokia 7650, Nokia 6610, Nokia 6100, Sony-Ericsson 310
and other MMS-GPRS compatible mobile phones.
The services also provides users with the opportunity to convert
their own pictures into MMS downloadable wallpapers and screensavers.
The user simply needs to send a picture or photo to mms@gsm.com.my
along with his or her mobile number. This photo will be converted
to an MMS downloadable format within 24 hours, and eBuzz will
then "WAP push" the pictures back to the user when ready.
AKN MTECH said it believes that with the growing number of savvy
mobile subscribers and SMS users in Malaysia, coupled with high
demand for latest mobile technology content, the eBuzz MMS services
will receive an encouraging response.
AKN MTECH, a member of AKN Group of Companies, was incorporated
in 1999 and is now a Multimedia Super Corridor company.
